Name:
Victorian diamond half-hoop ring
Price:
£ 3,950.00
Description

A particularly good example of the popular late-Victorian five-stone diamond half-hoop ring. The five diamonds are estimated to total approximately 2 1/2 carats, and are the typical deep cushion -cut diamonds of the periods, with large culets - the bottom facet which comes to a point in a modern-cut diamond. The diamonds are set in very elegant and simple cut-down settings tested as 18 ct, and the ring was made around 1870. The diamonds were probably mined in Brazil, which was the main source of diamonds before their discovery in South Africa towards the end of the 19th century.

Size O - American 7 but easily re-sized up or down.
