Diamond solitaire ring

This classic diamond solitaire ring is set with an earlier brilliant-cut diamond of 0.87 carats, I/J colour and with no noticeable inclusions, in a platinum mount with diamond baguette shoulders, probably made in the 1930s, 6-claw coronet settig, and a narrow D-section shank. Size O 1/2 but can very easily be sized up or down. This earlier brilliant-cut was established by Marcel Tolkowsky in 1914 and differs only from the modern brilliant-cut from around 1940 onwards, in having a small facet at the base, instead of coming to a point. This is a very good-looking classic engagement ring at a very good price.
