Alabaster & Wilson, founded in the 19th century, are still going strong in Birmingham today. In the 1960s and 70s they produced a range of contemporary designs, usually in 9ct gold, with a colourful selection of what used to be called semi-precious gemstones. This example, hall-marked in 1968, has cultured pearls, and red and yelow garnets, off-setting plant-like motifs. Very well made, as are all their pieces, and very wearable.
