Description
There were many stylistic ‘revivals’ in the 19th century, Gothic, Renaissance, Egyptian – but Assyrian Revival is uncommon. This large and heavy pair of cuff-links, 18ct gold hall-marked, made in Birmingham in 1900 by the maker RHJ are a particularly fine pair, applied with Assyrian winged bulls. The 15 foot high granite originals on which these are based can be seen in the British Museum. The links are 3/4 inch: 20 mm across, and the pair weight 19 grams
