Description
A very attractive brooch centred by a painted enamel plaque of a young girl in peasant costume, very much in the typical style of 19th century Swiss enamel work. It is set in a finely made gold filigree mount, tested as 18carat, bearing unidentified control marks on the catch. Circa 1840. Width: 1 3/8 inches:35 mm. Height: 1 1/2 inches:40 mm.
