N653A These earrings are set with genuine gold nuggets as found, therefore probably mined around 1900 in USA or Australia, so would be pure gold, the fittings with tiny diamonds stamped 750 (18k) and an indistinct maker’s mark which I think spells MOIRE

N639A An attractive and very wearable pair of salt-water pearl and rose-cut diamond earrings in 18th century style set in silver, with gold ear-wires. The pearls are approximately 9 mm diameter, and the earrings, excluding the ear-wires, 1 1/2 inches: 4 cms drop.
Without expensively testing the pearls. I cannot say whether they are natural. Cultured pearls did not come onto the market until the 1920s. If cultured, these earrings are later in date than they appear. If natural, they would be very much more expensive than they are. They come in a rather shabby old earring case which may or may not be original, but is quite characterful.

An unusual pair of earstuds set with carved and reverse-painted horses jumping a fence, either hunting, show-jumping or racing. The crystals are first carved in reverse with the subject and then hand-painted aand backed with mother-o’-pearl. The technique was popular in the 1870s and were known as Essex crystals after William Essex who was supposed to have originated the technique. These date probably from around 1920 and the screw fittings are stamped Amco 20-12K gold-filled, so probably American.
