Description
Modern diamond line bracelets, now often called tennis bracelets, set in white gold, are turned out in thousands in Bankok and Hong Kong. This is a rare original Belle Epoque example, made circa 1910 by the New York jewellers Marcus & Co, who more usually produced distinctive art nouveau jewellery, and is in platinum, a much stronger, harder and expensive metal, with finely engraved sides. It is set with approximately 5 3/4 carats of high-quality old-cut diamonds. The bracelet is is remarkably fine condition, as often the links become stretched over years of wearing; not so with this one. One of the best of its type. Length 7 inches: 18 cms.
