A beautifully enamelled Victorian oval locket circa 1890, enamelled with a pink rose, thistles and shamrocks. This is a 'gold front-and-back' locket, where the body of the locket is gilt-metal and the front and back plates are applied gold, an example of Victorian cost-saving. The back and sides are also elaborately engraved.The locket opens to take one or two photographs. The large suspension ring is also gold-cased metal. Excluding the siuspension rings, the locket is 1 3/4 inches: 4cms in height
